Body roll is more on a xuv 700, also there are rusting issues on the edges. It’s good if you compare the quality too

My knowledge of myself driving bike is that I drive a pace where I am fully committed my focus to driving is faster than usual cause if I am driving slow alone I can get distracted. Once I had accident it was my passenger who distracted me by tried to show something which removed my attention from road, so please be aware of this and conversations only with ears not eyes while driving. Intuition point was absolutely bang on. Shumi I can relate it so much. Thanks for the awesome video @MoterInc.

Our chauffeur gave me the best advice: 'When driving, remember that everyone else on the road is blind, except you.' I pass this on to everyone who is new with machines and I have given one suggestion to a colleague who was struggling with driving, having scratched her car's sides despite a year of experience. I told her to focus on the right side of the car, prioritise this as ‘your strong side’, if unsure, move your head through the window before proceeding. She took my advice and significantly improved.

What I learned over the period of time is, you are good if you have situational awareness as well as awareness about your ride. You have to always anticipate what will you do if something happens, as we as if you do something, what will happen.

While driving roads without street lights and divider at nighttime its easier to stick to the left side road marking to predict how to road curves while not stressing too much about hunting for sign boards and worrying whether you are veering off into the oncoming traffic lane.

One more thing which I discoverd and would like you to discuss in some other podcast, watching lots of crash and accident videos really helps stay more cautious and never take a risky maneover as the mind will always remind of that crash images while trying to do so. That also helps to keep improving urself and focus more on what 'I' can do to avoid such close calls & not the other way around, as mentioned beautifully by kartik. Never had any close calls since 6+ years using this mindset.

I got it for 2.2L last month. I feel its a very good bike that balances city & highway tours very good. In city traffic max 3rd gear is more then sufficient as it reaches 60+ kmph. Low end power delivery also very good. We can go around 20kmph in 3rd gear very smoothly. Currently getting 32 kmpl mileage. Expecting it to reach to 38-40 in couple of weeks.

When I ride my bike in my local area or city roads, and when someone calls me, I don't even think about who he might be. My rule is "one job at a time ". And just because of following this rule I am still riding bikes with zero accident or even near miss till now. I am 46 now and riding bikes/scooters since the age of 17😊 I really appreciate you guys sharing your first hand experience about riding/touring. This will really help people who are new to riding bikes.

Would be excellent if the lights were higher larger and more towards the centre…. Hyundai jumped on the new trend without thinking through if it fits the rest of the design. Still in a world of such over the top designs in the indian market it’s acceptable. The rear 3/4 however is its best angle. The light bar is meh what wouldve been really futuristic and insane would be if they could somehow integrate the headlights into the light bar

Hey Guys, I’m 25yrs old working in Bangalore, love riding the bikes and watching all the content. I’m bit confused with my decision every time I want to go on a ride I rent a bike Himalayan or a xpulse. So should I go ahead and buy a motorcycle or it’s fine to rent it out. I usually take for 250-350km weekend ride. While renting I will be having multiple options and looks like it’s bit cheaper compared to buying one, maintaining one. But I also have a FOMO ,not owning one, if u know what I mean. What are ur thoughts and advice.

Totally agreeing on the importance of learning the use of brakes on bikes. I've been riding a bike for 12 years and only recently I learnt that the front brake is the most important brake. I had a accident with the front brake in my first month of riding and the bike sent me flying. Now, I am consciously making an effort to learn the right way to brake and it has definitely made me more comfortable with my bike. AWESOME podcast, I've learnt so much.

Almost a year ago one of my friend was getting a scrambler 400x as his first bike. He didn't know how to ride so he took me to bring the bike from the showroom to his home. Now I'm a 5'7" inch guy, barely 53kgs. I have ridden a bajaj 150 for years, but that thing was huge and heavy for me. As I tried to make a u turn in the dealership parking, I was tip-toeing, I misjudged the clutch and leaned the bike too much, the parking lot was full of sand all over the place, my shoes were as worn off as they could be, and being a weak guy I couldn't handle that 190kgs. Dropped the bike before even getting the delivery. The gear shifter bent and knuckle guard got minor scratches. I was super afraid of that bike still managed to ride 60kms to that friends home from the dealership. Heck of an experience man 😂

Try to figure out where exactly the tyres of your bike or car are placed on the road This will help a lot to increasing the confidence and judgement while driving Also if possible, try to recognise the vehicle language (audio or visual), all vehicles communicate and if you are observant enough the vehicle will let you that something is wrong

Yes, I have done really-long bike trips, and some things I would like to share. (Pune to Puri, Pune to Attari. Biking in Bhutan. Many Pune to Goa. etc) All the trips have been done on an Apache 150 CC and thus are "small bike" oriented. All the trips have been in the Indian subcontinent and thus the learnings are only such. joke: No "Maya Sarabhai" style Canada, Germany, Chamonix, Europe, etc. etc. :) :) That out of the way, the points I would like to share are: * Marz-O-Rin sandwiches to last the entire first day. Reduces stops, saves time! Pack greens (lettuce, salad) or apples. Your gut will thank you the next day. fwiw: chutney for veg folks and Chicken Mayo for non-veg folks. Sometimes I make tuna mayo at home myself. * It is critical to have a common mindset in a group wrt smoking, drinking, rowdy/non-rowdy, etc. It may seem trivial, but it works out for the better in long, multi-day trips. You already covered the transport vs transit. * Paper maps (or listing) with names of small villages mostly memorized, per day. I do a virtual travel looking at the village names two days before departure. This helps me confirm on the road, that I am on the right way! *** I have done all my trips without live maps. * When traveling through multiple state learn the expressions for "hello", "yes please" and "thank you". * In a group bike trip, designate one person to be responsible for the plan; time spots and halts. Designated owner for keeping the entire journey on time. Driving a bike after sunset is no fun. Really! * Every one cannot afford 10K+ Alpine star water proof gear, do what it takes to keep your socks/shoes dry. Plastic cover for shoes, etc. etc. Same for underwear! Packs lots of socks and underwear. * In case of dry (non-rain) weather prefer using light-weight track pants with cotton lining on the inside. * Prefer to use a saddle bag which can be loaded and unloaded quickly, compared to doing a tied bag on the backseat. * Lightwieght bikes, especially with a kick-start are the better choice in mountainous and mud terrain. "Big bikes" are overrated, don't feel less of your bike or yourself if your bike is sub 200 CC For electric starter only bikes, carry a portable jumpstart kit. fwiw: entire of Bhutan (west to east) trip done on 100 and 150 cc bikes (5 of us), it was super fun! * Maybe pre-attched extra clutch cables along the actual location for Enfield bikes ?! * In case of a multi-day bike trip, do lower back strengtening exercises, starting a month before the trip. Do a trial run to see how a team ride works out. For a really long bike trip, try out a Pune-to-Goa test ride. * Pack long-lasting dry snacks (bakarwadi, spicy bakarwadi, etc.) Useful as a quick snack with tea and also for cultural food exchange. Based on a true story from Bhutan! I can still remember the pleasant surprise of the folks when we had shared bakarwadi with them. * Petrol suction transfer kit and a 2 liter bottle (coke bottle better than thumbs up) * In the beginning of road tripping, spend "gradually" on the complex gear. Don't go all-in on gearing up before your first trip. NON NEGIOTABLE MUST HAVES: helmet, gloves, thick jacket (or protective riding jacket) GOOD TO HAVE: Riding Shoes, If not, thick shoes (Woodland style) * Take lots of small plastic bags to carry potentially unwashed/used clothes on the journey. * The total *eventual* average considering stops, etc. on open roads (Pune - Delhi type) will be maximum 55 kmph. Mountainous terrain like Bhutan will be 25 kmph (optimistically). Bear this in mind when planning "halt cities" * Try to call ahead and book the hotel if possible, otherwise keep a buffer of 45 minutes to search for a nice hotel (esp clean toilet) *after* you reach your halt city.

Well, When I started driving/riding, my mother had severe back pain, so I had to keep my vehicle just smooth enough so that her back don't have to absorb those shocks. So irrespective of the speed I'm driving at, I always had to come below 20 kmph , be it car or bike. Now after few years of driving, that had become my default style. I always slow down my vehicle whenever there's a pothole or speed breaker. And for obvious reason all my friends count me as a slow driver, but interestingly all my friend's parents count me as a very comfortable & reliable driver 😂❤.
